How do I get an IEEE membership?
You have the option of obtaining IEEE membership as a professional or as a student.
Professional membership requires competencies in a field designated by the IEEE: Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Mathematics, Technical Communication, Education, Management, and Law and Policy.
As a student, you must complete at least 50% of the normal full-time academic program as a registered undergraduate or graduate student in a regular degree program. To be eligible for student membership in the IEEE, your degree program must be in an IEEE-defined field. Many universities offer so-called student branches for students. This gives students more favorable conditions.

Your article will then undergo a peer review, in which each article is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. As soon as your article is accepted for publication, it goes into production.

IEEE papers can be researched free of charge on the IEEE Xplore platform. However, if you want to read the complete article, a license fee is due. As an IEEE member, you have a certain number of free downloads. Students usually receive discounts or free access through their university.

5. Analysis tools and advertising
MADixel
This website uses the MADixel analysis tool from MADixel GmbH (Königsdorfer Straße 25, 82515 Wolfratshausen, Germany) to determine which companies have visited the website. Tracking is limited exclusively to companies. MADIXEL compares the IP address of a website visitor with the known IP addresses of companies using databases, some of which are publicly accessible. If there is a match, certain generally accessible company data is processed and made available to the website operator on a platform. YouTube with expanded data protection integration

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) was founded in the USA in 1905. The professional and trade association for the automotive industry has more than 132,000 members worldwide. In order to develop standards in vehicle construction, SAE also quickly became active in the aerospace industry.
Additive manufacturing is the hot topic in the industry. Many standardization organizations already have corresponding working groups. At SAE, a corresponding working group for the Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS) began its work three years ago and has now published the first four standards:

SAE International is today one of the leading professional associations for mobility technologies. In addition to developing standards and creating material specifications, the association also publishes technical reports (which are also presented at SAE’s numerous conferences), books and magazines on an ongoing basis.

All digital contributions are given a DOI (Document Object Identifier) so that they can be cited.
SAE International Standard J1939 DBC file (Data Base Container) is a generic database file based on the SAE J1939 standard. It contains the rules and definitions for translating CAN bus (Controller Area Network) messages into physical values. This file is often used in vehicle diagnostics and development to analyze and interpret communication between electronic control units (ECUs). Scientific impact of the IEEE – influence on patents and technology development
The study Analysis of US Patent Referencing to IEEE Papers, Conferences, and Standards 1999-2019 clearly shows: New technologies are increasingly based on scientific publications – and IEEE contributions are cited most frequently.
Between 1999 and 2019, more than 104,000 patents were granted to the 50 leading US companies. These patents contained a total of over 800,000 references to scientific articles, conference papers and standards: a significant proportion of them from the IEEE environment. For comparison: in 2010, the average was still 4.13 contributions per patent, while in 2019 it had already reached 7.71 contributions per patent. These figures illustrate the growing influence of scientific research on technical innovations.
The study also examined forward-looking topics such as blockchain, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, in which IEEE publications are particularly relevant.

Access to knowledge – new digital resources:
In addition to traditional publications, the IEEE now also offers digital specialist resources such as working papers, videos, newsletters and online courses. It started with two platforms of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) – one of the largest discussion forums in the international energy industry. The Society also develops relevant standards for energy and grid systems. Two offerings are currently in the beta phase: the PES Resource Center and the Smart Grid Resource Center. Low-cost entry-level licenses are currently available for institutions, with more Resource Centers to follow.
