The Non-Profit Organisation \u201cInstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)\u201d (pronounced: \u201ai triple e\u2018) is an internationally active learned society for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, based in the USA The organisation has given itself the mission to advance technological innovation for the benefit of Humanity.<\/p>\n
To achieve this goal, IEEE works to connect its members globally: through conferences, publications, the development of technical standards and its activities to further career development and training. The content covers primarily the core disciplines of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Electronics, as well as related areas. Users can take advantage of over five million full-text documents from the most cited publications in the world in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics.<\/p>\n The research database IEEE Xplore<\/a> is constantly updated, as nearly 20,000 new documents are added per month. On the database, there are already over 300 peer-reviewed journals, material from over 1,900 conferences, more than 11,000 technical standards, nearly 5,000 ebooks and over 500 online courses.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In principle IEEE Xplore<\/a> is open to everyone to search, and to find bibliographic data and abstracts. However to access full-text documents, a subscription is required. Subscriptions are differentiated between a personal and an institutional subscription: on this basis students often have a full access to IEEE Explore<\/a> via their university. On the other hand there are also exclusive subscriptions for IEEE members and IEEE Society members.
